SSM Connect is the parent app of Srimathi Sundaravalli Memorial School ("the School"). It gives parents of enrolled students access to the information the School already publishes on its parent portal: circulars, fees, assignments, attendance, assessments and similar records. This policy explains what the app does with your information.
The School is responsible for the student and parent data shown in the app. Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to the School office or to it@ssmetrust.in.

| Admission number and portal password | To sign you in to the School's parent portal. The password is stored only on your device, in the operating system's secure storage, so you do not have to type it each time. It is never sent anywhere other than the School's portal. |
| Student and family records (name, class, date of birth, address, parent contact details, fees, attendance, marks, circulars, leave applications) | Displayed in the app. They are fetched from the School's portal when you open a screen and kept temporarily on your device so screens open quickly. Sensitive family details are shown only after a one-time code sent to your registered email, as on the portal. |
| Documents (circulars, receipts, worksheets, timetables) | Downloaded from the School's portal and kept on your device so they open instantly. They are removed when you sign out of the account. |
| Device notification token | So the School can send you notifications about new circulars, updates and assignments. The token is registered with the School together with your children's admission numbers and removed when you sign out. |
| Biometric or PIN app lock (optional) | If you enable it, the app uses your phone's fingerprint or face unlock, or a PIN you choose, to protect the app. Biometric data never leaves your phone and is not available to the app. |
No one other than the School receives, stores or analyses parent or student data through the app. The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics.
Sign-in details, downloaded documents, cached records and the notification inbox are kept on your phone only. Signing out removes the sign-in details and notification registration; "forget this account" removes everything, including downloaded documents. Uninstalling the app removes all of it.
The app is intended for parents and guardians. Student information is shown to the signed-in parent only, using the credentials issued by the School.
All communication with the School's portal uses HTTPS. Passwords are kept in the device's secure storage (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain). Sensitive family details require a one-time code sent to the registered email each time you sign in.
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
